In this episode, Keith and Megan Peeler share their story of how Everfree got started. They share their heart for freedom and transformation in Christ. Megan's prayer group prophesied over her about which house we would buy...and all of the details that were prophesied were connected to the house they bought. Hey everybody, welcome to the Everfree podcast.

This is episode number one.

I'm Keith Peeler.

I'm here with my wife, Megan Peeler, and she's looking good as usual today.

Thanks, babe.

So this is our first episode.

We're so excited.

Get ready.

Everfree.us episode number one.

Okay, so it's, wow, it's happening.

I'm really excited.

I know because it's been, well, it's been two years.

I bought the equipment two years ago for us to start podcasting because we knew that we wanted to do this.

And we knew that our prayer journey and our life journey and our missionary journey has been unusual and fun and powerful and spirit filled.

And we've grown a lot.

We've grown a lot.

So much.

And so, so, okay.

So everfree.us got started because we had some powerful God encounters.

And, uh, as, as we launched everfree.us 2019, we are coming live 2019 is a, as a year of renewal.

It's a year of new things.

It's a year of rebirth.

And so we're launching and we're becoming full-time missionaries again, doing ever free ministry.

It's a prayer ministry, a training ministry on multiplying the gospel ministry.

And, uh, so we're here to talk to you guys who out there listening, our friends, our family, people that we've prayed with, people we've connected with, and hopefully as our messages get out there, more and more people can just be encouraged.

Um, so today we're just talking about us.

It's not self-serving as much as it's like, why, okay.

Why are Keith and Megan Peeler podcasting? 

So, babe, why, why are we podcasting? 

I think we're podcasting because over the last 10 years, we've grown and we've learned a lot about prayer ministry.

And so we want to share what we've learned.

Yeah.

And so here, here's who we are, right? 

So if you've never met us before, we want to talk to you like you're our best friends because that's the kind of people we are, but you don't know us.

And so we want to introduce ourselves.

So I'm Keith, my wife, Megan and I met how many years ago was it dear? 

You always tease me about this.

15.

That's right.

The summer be 15.

I usually remember this in the, in the relationship she forgets.

And where did we meet, dear? 

We met on eharmony.com, plug eharmony.

We did.

And so what's funny about that is, um, you know, in the beginning of our marriage, uh, that process for us was such a helpful thing.

Um, you had a really, really, you know, fun situation, right? Yeah.

Yeah.

Well, I feel like you have to have a reason for why you do eharmony.

Not anymore back then.

Well, yeah.

Cause it was new.

And my reason for doing eharmony is that I had my daughter hope when I was 23.

So I did not want to date around.

And so I did eharmony cause I felt like it might be a better way to meet guys and figure out if they were right for me and for hope.

That's true.

Yeah.

Yeah.

And I, um, was still single and 30 and recognized that, uh, my options may be, you know, different at age 30 than they were when I was younger.

The Lord is still working on me.

I think there were lots of things going there, but that's how we met 15 years ago.

And at first, uh, we didn't even want to do ministry together.

Really.

I mean, you didn't want to be married to minister type guy.

No, I really didn't.

But eharmony kept matching me with pastors and people in ministry.

So I felt like he was trying to get my attention.

God was already wanting me to marry a pastor.

So, um, no, but I'm a speech pathologist and that is my passion.

I love working with special needs and, um, children specifically.

And so I never really thought that we would be in total partnership together in our ministry until now.

Yeah.

And we are now.

And so that was kind of the beginning.

And so for us, Megan and I both came out of, uh, church past, but broken.

Yeah.

Both raised in the church.

Both.

Yeah.

Both raised in traditional churches.

Um, but both also kind of living kind of one foot in the world, one foot, you know, in the church.

And so we both had pretty strong conversion stories in the midst of that.

Like we would go to going to church, but then God kind of got hold of us in different ways.

And why that's important is that, um, we were kind of your everyday church people and we had been around the church for a really long time and, and loved, have loved the church, continue to love the church, even in the midst of recognizing some of the things that have not gone so well in the midst of being a part of a local church.

And we have both historic experience with that and recent experience with that.

And so what we want to do is we want to create a platform of conversation around what does it mean to fully give your life to God? 

What does it mean to hear the voice of God? 

Because that's really kind of the core of what's shifted in the last 10 years.

And how do we just, how do we get honest and real? 

Um, there are some things that have happened in our lives and because Megan and I have had to just deal with our stuff, it's, uh, put us in a place of having to be vulnerable.

And so we're kind of what you see is what you get people.

As you listen to us, you're not going to get some sort of manby pamby Sunday morning stories.

You're not going to get the clean, tie it up with a cute little bow and everything works out great.

If you love Jesus kind of stuff, you're going to get like the brutal stuff.

We were walking through some brutal stuff with friends right now.

We're walking through brutal stuff with family members right now.

Uh, we are walking through brutal stuff in our own life right now.

And so when we talk about ever free, what does it mean to live a life of freedom? 

We're not talking about a life without pain.

We're not talking about a life without difficulty.

We're talking about what does it really mean to trust Jesus with everything? 

How do you come into an intimate, loving, uh, just powerful relationship with God that, that draws you into the truth of, of seeing what's really going on in the situation and not just what our human eyes can see.

The biggest impactor in what's changed us in the last 10 years is the recognition of the supernatural things, both the positive supernatural things and the negative ones.

And so ever free as a podcast is going to be the place where we talk about our stories.

We talk about, uh, what is healing prayer? 

What is inner healing prayer? 

What is deliverance? 

Uh, what does it mean to live a life of freedom? 

Our caption on our website is ever free.

Prayer that sets the captive free.

Who's captive? 

What is freedom? 

What's our identity in Christ? 

What are the things that as God has formed and shaped us in this unique way, because this inner healing prayer ministry has become a unique platform.

Um, how has that really shaped us? 

And, and as we've worked in churches and alongside churches, some churches are wide open.

Some churches are very resistant.

And so we want to honor you and bless you wherever you're coming from.

We're not here to sell anything.

We're not here to hide anything.

We are just who we are.

Uh, we come from some mainline traditional backgrounds.

We've experienced some power of the Holy Spirit.

Unfortunately, you know, people want to use words like charismatic or traditional or denominational.

And, and sometimes I don't even know that I even know what those words mean.

Yeah.

I feel like we can be supernaturally natural.

Yeah.

Um, but I don't know that I've always seen it that way.

Um, people operating in the supernatural gifts, being prophetic or speaking in tongues or anything like that.

I don't know that there, there's not always a balance and I've, and I hope that that's what we're going to bring to this podcast.

Yeah.

And that's been our experience, right? 

We, here we are, we have seen some pretty amazing miracle things, but we also pretty normal people.

Um, well, I guess that depends on who you talk to, but we think we're normal.

And, and so the idea for us is really to create this platform of conversation where we can, we can just tell our stories about what does it mean to be biblical? 

What does it mean to be experiential? 

What does it mean to be honest? 

What does it mean to be transparent? What does it mean to be intimate? 

And, and we're going to talk about some things in this podcast that may make you uncomfortable over time, uh, because it's going to get down to the real heart of things.

One core thing that I know we have learned about people about maybe what's unique about you and I is that you and I are not really afraid to talk about our junk.

Everybody's got junk, but nobody really wants to talk about it.

Now, we don't love to talk about our junk, but we're not afraid to talk about it because we can see how God has used our junk to transform us into what it means to trust him with everything.

Well, and I think our freedom is that we're not walking in shame, but the junk brought to our lives.

We are completely, um, walking in the freedom of our past so that we can share it without shame or guilt or self condemnation.

So I feel like that's the reason we're able to share our stories with people, even though it still doesn't feel very great to talk about your past stuff.

So our stories come from a variety of things.

And so part of our story is how do we get to Bozeman Montana? 

And we, uh, my wife is a long, I mean, she's a Texas lady.

Trust me, blonde hair, full of life, everything you think about a Texas woman.

That's what I got.

It's true.

By vases, beautiful.

Anyway, and I grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and consider that my home though.

I wasn't born there.

And as we met in E-Harmony, as we said, we're doing missionary life in East Dallas.

We're experiencing God moving in mighty and powerful ways.

Uh, future episodes, we could talk about some specific stories that like launched us into kind of how we understand spiritual warfare and all that kind of stuff that the podcast is about.

But the transition here was really powerful one.

And so we had come to Bozeman a couple summers ago to visit our friend Sam.

And Sam was a pastor of a local church here.

And we came up to just visit and, and, and just hang out.

We'd never been to Montana before.

We're on the way to Colorado.

And so we're like, hey, why not? 

We're going to Colorado.

That's halfway to Montana.

Let's just go see Sam and Jen and go hang out with some friends.

And so we did.

And we had an amazing time visiting Montana.

And I preached at that church and instantly was invited by the elders to consider a role that they were creating, to be a missional pastor.

And, and in that journey, we were really kind of moving along in Dallas and there's like, like after so many years of like blood, sweat, and tears, we really were getting to the place that like fruit was happening, right? 

Missionary life, you start out slow and you build team and you build up what God's doing.

And He was showing us these things.

And so we just started praying about it.

And I said, look, I'm what you see is what you get guys.

So here's who we are.

Here's what we're about.

And if that sounds good to you, then we can talk, but really, no, no, thank you.

I'm not interested.

And so we did, but we turned in a resume and all that.

And so in that journey, we're kind of going back and forth with the church kind of interviewing and just sharing our life with our stories that we had shared with people in Dallas and how that would relate to people in Montana.

And in that you were, I think, hesitant would be the understatement of the year.

I get cold really easily and Montana is cold.

Yes, it is.

Man, it's very cold.

As I look out my window and see snow everywhere.

But I had an amazing prayer group and they prayed over me and they saw that this was a possibility and they started prophesying over what it was we needed to look for in a home.

And so if people that are listening to our podcast don't know what prophesying is, if that's not a part of their tradition, how would you help relate as their prophesying? 

What were they doing? 

What were they sharing with you that was revealing things or prophesying? 

They were listening to God on my behalf and asking the Lord to give them pictures, words, scriptures to encourage me in our journey towards moving to Montana.

Let's make it specific.

They're praying for you and what are you getting? 

Okay, so they gave me a list of things to look for specifically in our home.

And honestly, if I hadn't received these specific words, I might not believe that this is real that we're supposed to be here because Texas is my home and my family's in Texas.

So the things that they said were to look for a house with property and we live on an acre and a half of land.

They also said, and this is before we even found the house.

And then they said, look for a house and this sounds strange, but the walls will speak his name.

Right? We didn't really know how to get that.

But when we walked in this house, there were stencils on the wall that were scriptures speaking, the walls were speaking his name.

And they also said that this house would be a house of praise and worship.

And in the corner, there was a stack of hymnals and a piano and an accordion.

Yeah, we could tell that singing and worshiping was being done in this house.

Yeah.

And not only were that we were going to live on a property with land, but from every angle, we would see the mountains.

Yeah.

And we literally see the mountains from every angle of our house.

That's right.

And then the last thing that they said is that this house would be a house of love and that they saw, literally they saw a picture of a heart with the word love written across it.

Yeah.

And up in the bathroom on the wall, there was a heart with the love written across it.

It was a bit, I mean, we were used to God's stories at this point in our journey.

This was intense.

It was uncanny.

Like, there was no second guessing that this was the right house.

This was the obvious stuff.

Like, okay, yes, Laura, I get it.

Yeah.

Because if people in Dallas, Texas who've never even been here could get these as they're praying on your behalf, these very specific and clear things, that for us was a very clear.

And there were other clear signs.

I mean, God's been with us in this whole journey this entire time.

And I was not, I did not want to move to Bozeman, Montana.

I love Dallas.

I loved our life in Dallas.

All that.

But God made it so clear.

Yeah.

Every bit of the way.

And so we came to partner and we came up to work alongside our buddy, Sam, and in that process over this last year, it just didn't work.

It didn't work.

And so we were released, i.e., terminated this last summer.

And that's a real part of our story.

It's a real part of what we had to deal with.

And we were released for the Spirit ministry.

And so we want to bless that body.

We really trust that the Lord is on the move in this city.

And so we want to just speak blessings and forgiveness and love over every person associated there.

But that's a real part of our journey.

And part of that journey is we had to talk about when that happened.

We had, I mean, poop hit the fan.

We had to get real.

Like, okay, Lord, did we miss it? 

Did we get it wrong? 

Like, we thought we could come here and be ourselves.

And that didn't work.

And so, did we misunderstand? 

Did we miss the...

And he reminded us of these things, like about the house that Megan shared and prayers.

And I did a 21-day fasting and prayer time.

And I went back to that journal and I just saw his hand saying...

And as we prayed, it was very clear.

I said, Lord, what are we supposed to do now? 

Do we go back to Texas? 

And he's like, no.

And I asked him again, because I didn't like that answer.

Lord, aren't you...

Like, we have family down there.

We have a network down there.

We have people who love us down there.

Are you sure, Lord? 

Like, can we go back to Texas? 

No.

And I had this message, stand firm.

And so this message of stand firm was all...

I mean, I was like, Lord, how about a little bit more? 

I need some help.

All I got.

So for a good month and a half is I'm praying.

I'm reading scriptures and I'm like, Lord, what do you want to say to me about all this? 

Stand firm.

Stand firm.

And then I had this encounter.

God just blesses us with these encounters.

I met this woman in the parking lot who I loved dearly from our church.

And she could just tell I was struggling.

And I was just saying, yeah, things are just tough right now.

And she just said, Exodus 14 13, the Lord told me that verse was somebody, that's for you.

Bye.

And she left.

That's it.

Totally spaces out.

I said, I don't know what Exodus 14 13 says.

So I went home and I read it.

And it says this, Exodus 14 13, and Moses said to the people, fear not, stand firm and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will work for you today.

For the Egyptians, whom you see today, you shall never see again.

The Lord will fight for you, and you need only to be silent.

And I heard that stand firm message that she, the Lord had given her a word of knowledge that she knew that she was going to run into somebody that needed that specific verse.

And for it to be so clear to hear that verse, stand firm, it was the clear message.

And it was not easy.

It was confirmation, just like coming to this house was confirmation.

Literally.

It was the Lord showing us exactly where He wanted us to be.

And it wasn't easy because you weren't even in town, were you? 

Where were you? 

You were headed out of town.

I was out of town for a month.

Yeah.

With family.

We're going to visit family down in Texas already.

And all this mess is going on.

And so we're in the process of figuring that out and talking about it.

And we were just praying.

And even though we were apart by thousands of miles, the Lord unified our heart and just said, no, this is where you're supposed to be.

And so all of this is part of, this is whatever free is.

This is why we are so passionate about launching a podcast because we're going to tell you the truth about our stories.

We're going to tell you about hurts, what doesn't hurt.

And this whole year has been the hardest year of our life.

Yeah.

It's been a year.

We have felt abandoned.

We have been, I felt accused.

We have felt all kinds of things and judged all those things.

And look, we're not perfect people.

We have made mistakes and we own them.

To the best of our ability, we've asked for forgiveness and we've sought repentance.

And that's what seeking the Father is about, is the repentance of telling the truth and putting the truth out there so that people can really hear the heart of the Father.

And the heart of the Father was saying this, stand firm.

You don't have to defend yourself.

You don't have to fear.

You need only be silent, Keith Peeler.

And that's hard for Keith Peeler.

Yeah, that stretches both of us really.

And so in this journey to Bozeman, now we're raising full-time support again to support our family to stay here.

Our organization, Novo, Novo.org, they have been with us for the last 10 years.

They've been our support structure and our overseers and they've continued to be that now.

And so Everfree is basically being underneath the big umbrella of Novo that has 600 missionaries all around the world doing powerful, God-given, multiplying work of the kingdom.

And under that authority, under that financial responsibility and accountability and all that, that's where this new ministry is being launched.

And so 2019 is a year of new birth, new life, of truth-telling, of forgiveness, of hope, of laughter, of power, because the supernatural things of God, the things that we have seen the Lord do supersede by leaps and bounds any of the pain that we've inflicted upon ourselves or has been inflicted upon us.

And so to walk with Christ, to walk in the power of forgiveness, not just forgiving other people, but to know that we are walking in His total forgiveness.

And I come from the South.

And so here's the message of the South.

The South message was, if you die tonight, do you know that you know that you know you're going to go to heaven? 

And a lot of evangelism was fire insurance.

And it wasn't about transformation.

It wasn't about new life.

It was about acknowledging sin and being sorry for it.

But the kingdom of God is so much bigger than that.

Have I got sin yet? 

Do I not? 

Yes.

Do I need Jesus to help cover that? 

Yes, I do.

My theology is clear that I am broken, but I am an overcomer.

I'm an over power or in the spirit, not of my own.

And so as Megan and I have journeyed in this last year, podcasting, teaching, training, that's where God is launching us in this new year of 2019.

That 2019 is a year of freedom for others, for ourselves.

I feel that two scriptures that we just want to live by are, one is, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

If we truly believe that, then we will walk in freedom and we will get to see powerful things happening here on earth.

And the other thing that the other scripture that I think about is, greater is He that is in you than 

He that is in the world.

And if I truly believe that, then I can walk in that freedom.

And I think our desire as a couple in our ministry and through this podcast is to pursue more, more of Christ, more freedom.

And to do that, we need the body, we need each other, and we need to just lean in to the voice of God.

I'll take that as an amen.

That's a great place to wrap up.

Yeah.
